Get the brushes out
Autumn and winter are a great time of year to get the paint rollers and brushes out and freshen up the inside of your home. Giving a new coat to tired looking walls can make them look good as new, or you can even go for a complete colour change for a new look – or add an accent wall for a great visual impact. Painting is great because it can make a big difference to your home for minimal cost!
Keep the warmth in
Before the cold weather really hits, another great project is to weather proof your doors and windows. You’ll be amazed at how quickly heat can escape from your home. If you’ve lived in your home for a while, it’s a great idea to check the seals on your windows and doors and replace or fix if needed, as well as invest in some draught excluders to keep the cold out and the warmth in.
Declutter & Organise
When you’re spending more time inside, the last thing you want is clutter and distractions all around the house. Get on top of this early by organising your rooms – utilise under furniture storing in living areas, tidy the pantry and clean out your bedroom cupboards so you’ll have more space.
Check your guttering
Perhaps not the most glamorous job, but one that is often overlooked – with wet weather on the way, it’s a great idea to make sure your gutters are clear of blockages that can cause a build-up of water and potential problems if not dealt with.
