While the lion's share of work on your new home happens at our factory (we construct our clients' homes up to 95% completion before transport), there are still several site preparations that need to take place before your brand new Swanbuild home can be delivered and installed.
Read below to learn about the steps to undertake to make your site "Home ready" and how we work to get the absolute most out of your chosen location.
Site Visit
Once you've decided on your home design and are ready to move onto the next step in the home-building journey, the Swanbuild site surveyor will visit your property to conduct a thorough site inspection. Looking at everything from orientation, topography and access to connections will help us to advise you of the optimal position for your home, and get your plans ready to take to your local council to see if any extra planning permits or requirements are needed.
To prepare for the next stage, at your site inspection we will also mark out your design's final dimensions to give you a proper feel for the size and aspects of your finished home.
Coordinating Connections
As a part of our streamlined building process we will work with your chosen plumbers and electricians, to ensure that your home can be connected to services and are in working order for you to move in as soon as possible after delivery day.
For the electrical connections, your home will come with all wiring within the home from the meter box or switchboard to power points, lights, switches etc. We’ll also guide your electrician to connect the mains power, hot water service, air conditioning and all other main electrical elements to ensure we can obtain the Electrical Safety Certificate and provide you with the occupancy permit to enable handover.
For the plumbing connections, we can also help project manage your local plumber to connect internal pipes to all outlets, gas connections, waste pipes, and other essential connections to again ensure we can get the required permits and have you moving into your dream home as fast as possible.
