How Your Swanbuild Home Will Keep Cool During The Summer Heat

By all indicators, this summer will be a scorcher across Australia. At Swanbuild, we build our homes to stand up to even the most extreme weather to ensure a comfortable home that keeps you cool all summer.

How We Build To Keep You Cool

After inspecting your property, we create a design solution that takes in the best elements of your property to maximise views and capture natural light while reducing direct sunlight in summer. We work with you to select a placement and orientation for your home that can improve energy efficiency and provide optimal comfort all year round. We place windows in positions to capture winter light and summer shade and include eaves and verandahs to keep your home in the shade during summer.

Inclusions To Keep You Cool

An inclusion on all Swanbuild homes is the installation of double-glazed Low E aluminium windows. Low E glass features a very thin coating applied to the glass that reduces heat transport through the glass. Think of it as an invisible insulation barrier for your windows. Your windows will also include block-out roller blinds in your choice of colour.

Your home also includes high-quality thermal R2.0 wall insulation, R4.0 ceiling insulation, R1.5 roof insulation and compressed polystyrene R1.5 underfloor insulation to help maintain your home's temperature throughout even the hottest parts of the day.

What We Can Add To Keep You Cooler

As a standard inclusion, your home will include a quality Daikin reverse cycle 9.4kW inverter split system in the living area. For the ultimate summer comfort, you can upgrade your home's climate control to include ducted cooling throughout. This upgrade will cover the entire house and make even the hottest summer nights manageable.

If you have any questions about your new home and how we can weatherproof it for the summer, please reach out to the team and see what we can do for you.
