In 2022 Interior design was all about ditching minimalism and adding second hand & vintage pieces, and while we don't think these particular trends are going anywhere, 2023 will bring a whole new set of trends that are about to shakeup the scene!
Bold Colours and rich hues
Deep greens, blues and reds are predicted to feature throughout homes almost anywhere from wallpapers, the kitchen or in statement furniture pieces. As all white design become less popular, people are now wanting to add extra personality and warmth to their homes
Sustainable Living
While it certainly isn't a new concept, the rise of eco friendly design features is expected to keep growing. With the issue of climate change and pollution at the forefront of many peoples minds, it's expected that sustainable living elements will be the norm in many new builds. Think features such as solar panels, double glazing, greywater recycling systems, and energy-efficient appliances.
Mid century modern & art deco inspired features
Thanks in large part to social media platforms such as Instagram and Pinterest, interiors inspired by the 30's and 40's are expected to be one of the hottest trends of 2023. Think curves, oversized lamps, antique pieces, bold colours, copper and gold elements and more traditional art that give your home that unique, classic look.
Quality over quantity
While minimalism is no longer the go to choice for interior design, people aren't doing the polar opposite and going for a maximalism look in their homes. Rather it is expected that people will turn away from cheap, fast furniture in favour of higher quality items and second hand pieces. People have a widespread appreciation for local makers and manufacturers, creating items that last multiple generations and also add plenty of style.
Here at Swanbuild, we know that each person has their own taste and style requirements, and we're here to help you make sure your new modular home is designed the way you want, so it will also look exactly how you want once you've moved in and decorated.
